Keto Ply manufactures IS 2202 solid core flush doors at Yamunanagar on kiln and air seasoned pinewood and hardwood, and supplies them across Palanpur, Deesa and the Banaskantha belt to house construction, hotel and institutional work, in 25 mm to 35 mm shutters.
IS 2202 | Solid Core | 25 mm to 35 mm
Every other panel in a building sits still. A door does not. It swings, slams, gets leaned on, pushed with a foot and knocked by furniture, thousands of times across its life, and IS 2202 tests it accordingly: fifty to a hundred successive slams with no visible damage, twenty five shock blows on each end, a buckling test that allows no more than 5 mm of residual deformation, and an indentation limit of 0.2 mm. Those are not panel tests. Banaskantha then works the shutter from the other direction. This is dry country on the edge of the Rann, where summer air pulls moisture out of timber rather than putting it in, and a core that was never properly seasoned keeps shrinking after the door is hung. The joints open, the shutter drops out of square on its hinges, and the top corner starts catching the frame. Kiln and air seasoning to not more than 12 percent moisture before pressing is what stops that shrinkage happening on site. Keto Ply builds its flush door shutters on pinewood and hardwood timber that is ripped and then seasoned by kiln and air, with core strips no wider than 30 mm and timber moisture held at not more than 12 percent, which is what IS 2202 requires of a shutter that has to keep its shape for a decade.
Slamming, shock, buckling and edge loading checks against IS 2202, because a door fails from movement long before it fails from bonding.
Pinewood and hardwood ripped and then seasoned by kiln and air, with timber moisture held at not more than 12 percent as IS 2202 requires.
Consignments to Palanpur, Deesa, Dhanera, Tharad and the Banaskantha market towns, with part load dispatch for smaller orders.
Every Keto Ply panel carries the brand's borer, fungus and anti-termite guarantee in writing.
What a moving component has to survive in dry Banaskantha heat, and how a shutter built to IS 2202 answers it.
Request a Sample BoardIS 2202 puts the shutter through fifty to a hundred successive slams, twenty five shock blows on each end and an edge loading test, and none of them may leave visible damage. A panel standard tests glue. A door standard tests what a decade of use actually does.
Core strips no wider than 30 mm, laid to fill the shutter, on timber seasoned to not more than 12 percent moisture. In Banaskantha dry heat the risk runs the other way from the coast: an unseasoned core keeps shrinking after the door is hung, and the joints open.
IS 2202 calls for phenol formaldehyde adhesive to BWP grade under IS 848 for the face bonding. It is the same chemistry that lets marine plywood survive boiling, which is why a properly built shutter tolerates a wet mop along its bottom edge.
Non-coniferous hardwood at the edges and the lock rail, so hinges, locks and closers land in timber that holds a screw rather than in soft filler. This is the part of a door that fails first when it is skimped.
IS 2202 allows no more than 5 mm of residual deformation after the buckling test, and thickness may not vary more than 0.8 mm across the shutter. That is the difference between a door that closes on its latch and one that has to be pushed.

Acceptance values laid down in IS 2202 (Part 1), Wooden Flush Door Shutters, Solid Core Type.
| Test | Method | Requirement | What it means on site |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slamming Test | IS 2202 cl 11.9 | 50 to 100 successive impacts with no visible damage | The shutter survives being slammed daily for years. |
| Shock Resistance | IS 2202 cl 11.7 | Twenty five blows on each end with no visible damage | It takes knocks from furniture and trolleys without splitting. |
| Buckling Test | IS 2202 cl 11.8 | No residual deformation more than 5 mm after 15 minutes | The shutter returns flat instead of staying bowed in its frame. |
| Impact Indentation | IS 2202 cl 11.4 | Indentation not more than 0.2 mm | The face does not dent from ordinary knocks and handles. |
| Edge Loading | IS 2202 cl 11.6 | Deflection not more than 5 mm, residual not more than 0.5 mm | Hinges and locks stay in line under load. |
| End Immersion | IS 2202 cl 11.12 | No delamination at the end of the test | The bottom edge survives mopping and monsoon damp. |
These are the published IS 2202 (Part 1) acceptance criteria for solid core flush door shutters. The lot specific test report is issued with every project consignment.
